Whether it’s from Zara or Stella McCartney, the most sustainable sweater you can wear is the one you currently own (if yours is looking a little tired check out our guide to sweater care). The next best option is a pre-loved sweater, previously owned by someone. After taking some time to fully commit to pre-loved clothing as an acceptable shopping option, I now firmly believe that any trepidation you have about purchasing used clothing can be cured by discovering your reseller of choice.
Shopping pre-loved is cost-effective, enjoyable, and prompts us to shop according to our distinctive style. It’s a necessary reminder that clothing should have a life after your closet that isn’t landfill, and investing in well-made pieces will mean you can do some reselling of your own.
Here are five not new sweaters that we love for fall.
